Louise McClary's paintings are made up of numerous, mixed-media layers that represent her feelings about and experiences of places; mostly the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Her works show a rich use of colour and texture which is made up from working with many layers, and by working onto different materials such as linen. I am interested in McClary's work because of how she uses colour and texture to create new representations of nature and her surroundings.
