When looking at Julian Brow's work I was initially drawn to his colour palette because of the selection containing numerous bright colours that can be seen as 'sugary sweet' colours, but to me they are fresh and happy choices that are somewhat like a distraction from anything negative in life.

This relates to my own work through my links to escapism and how I do not incorporate dark colours in to my art, in a bid to keep a 'bright and happy' feel to it.

I was also drawn to his playful brushstrokes and how they fit seamlessly into the geometrical structures that make up each composition.
