Mark Rothko's work style has been identified as Abstract Expressionist and he is known for his Color Field painting, "which has large areas of color with no obvious focus of attention. Rothko simplified forms as much as possible, creating rectangles that seem to float on a field of colour." I am using Mark Rothko as an artist link because of how his pieces include a limited colour palette yet are atill able to be powerful paintings.
