multiple layer pieces

as well as creating new paintings, i wanted to see how my initial drawings would look if they were revamped and updated with colour and layers and textures so instead of going in over the top of them i decided to use some sheets of tracing paper and apply acrylic and watercolour paints to the top by dripping, flicking and dropping paint like i had with my background abstract paintings and then placing them on the top of the drawings.
this made the drawings have a frosted or foggy effect, and also this gave me the option or rearranging the layers if i didn't like the placement and wanted to adapt the compositional design. i liked the extra freedom this gave me with the abstract action painting as i no longer had to think about where i would place the drawing aspects of the piece.
