Priestman Gallery Exhibition "2 x 2 = 2 + 2"
All of the Stage 2 Fine Art students were given the task of being paired up together then having to pick a piece of each others work to be displayed in the Priestman Gallery for the "2 x 2 = 2 + 2" exhibition. I found this way of choosing art to be displayed to be both challenging and interesting as I found that a painting or sculpture piece you may not have chosen to show would have been the first choice to somebody else, which makes you see that your work is interesting and appreciated by others even if it is not your personal favourite. There was a variety of pieces chosen for this project such as paintings, sculpture, video/animation and even a photography booklet piece too. This shows that even though we all work in different styles, we can still all show our art in the same environment. As a group, we also talked in depth about a few of the pieces with two of the tutors James and Eric so that we could all build upon our skills when it comes to interpreting art and looking a the influencial factors behind each piece.
